The βook of βitcoin
The Bitcoin block chain, read as a book: each block a chapter, each
transaction a section of grammatically correct Glossia prose, witness data
collected as footnotes. Every byte of every transaction is carried in the
words of the prose and decodes back out exactly.
Passages are composed here, in the browser, by a WASM engine — so with
JavaScript off (or fetched by a crawler) this page carries no passage
text. The book is still readable without it:
- Curated passages as plain markdown
— the Genesis block, the Hal Finney transaction, Bitcoin Pizza Day,
the halvings, the soft-fork activations, and the rest.
- The preface — the book in its own voice.
- llms.txt — the site's structure, citation
scheme, and how to reconstruct any passage on the chain from public
data with the published engine.
